Pathways Statement on the Ceasefire and the Pursuit of Lasting Peace

Pathways welcomes the ceasefire agreement, the release of the remaining living hostages, and the end to the hostilities and loss of innocent lives.

This moment offers a long-awaited breath of relief, and a hopeful glimpse of what perseverance and prayer can achieve.

Even as we celebrate this step toward peace, we remain mindful of the immense work still ahead. True peace is not signed in a moment — it is built day by day through trust, compassion, and the healing of trauma. The agreement must now become a foundation for a future in which both Israelis and Palestinians can live in security, dignity, and hope.

At Pathways, we are inspired by the courage of the peacemakers — educators, faith leaders, and community builders — who, even in times of despair, have refused to give up on one another. Their steadfast commitment to dialogue and reconciliation lights the way forward.

As we pray for all who have suffered, we renew our commitment to the daily work of peace — fostering dialogue that heals, and leadership that unites.

Blessed are the peacemakers.

May this agreement mark not the conclusion of a war, but the beginning of a lasting peace and a comprehensive resolution for Israelis and Palestinians — one that ensures security, freedom, and dignity for all, and hope for generations to come.
